Leilani: How did you feel when you heard Michael Jackson passed away and what do you think the barriers he broke through do for you as an artist?
Tasche: When I first heard he had passed, I was kind of in a slow delay. I would check messages and it was confirmed he passed. I felt it was unfortunate and terrible! He was still young and I didn’t get my chance to see him perform live. As my day slowed down it finally hit me, we lost a huge contribution to humanity. He helped many children and his philanthropy endeavors he shared showed just how good his heart and hopes were. He combined the world and if you went around the world and people didn’t speak English or know much about America, they knew Michael Jackson. He made a huge impact literally on the world. He was a real global citizen. He wasn’t just a black man or just an American, he was truly a global citizen and that’s how he lived his life. It’s an unfortunate loss to our world for him to leave the earth at such a young age and also right before he was going to do that series of concerts. I think that Michael Jackson change the game as far as entertainment goes. A lot of artist you see today wouldn’t be around if it wasn’t for the major contributions he made. Artist like, Usher, Neyo, Justin Timberlake and when you go back you have New Kids on the Block, New Edition you have all these groups that basically came from the Jackson 5 and really having that mass appeal. He changed the entertainment game and left an imprint that will never disappear.

Leilani: Any advice to up and coming artist?
Tasche: One lesson that I have learned and I’m still learning and you hear this all the time. One thing for sure that I can say is, if you can’t find someone to do something that you need them to do when you need it…if you want it done right you have to do it yourself! That’s the bottom line! It’s your career that you want to have. That’s not a good or bad thing and it doesn’t mean it will always be that way. Depending where you are in your career it’s a good idea if things needs to be handled…handle it! Be in more control of your career and don’t leave it to anyone else!

Leilani: Anything else you would like our audience to know about you?
Tasche: My goal in my music is to connect people. I love people and traveling all across the world. I’m a very people oriented person. My music is my way to get my ideas out there and connect with other people that feel the same way I feel about things. I would like to connect the whole world. When people hear my music, I want them to connect and feel the same way or once upon a time in their lives have felt that way through my songs or CD. I love interacting with my audience and fans, when I come off the stage I look forward to talking with them about different things and connecting about how my music has affected them!
