Interview with Pure Sounds Ministries/Optimus Entertainment Gospel Artist:
Danielle Lewis...singer and songwriter…was born to Dale and Ann Marie Lewis on
February 27, 1982. They found her drawn to the sounds of noted gospel artists, Larnell
Harris and Sandi Patti, at the tender age of four. She starred in her first musical shortly
after. At the age of six, she enrolled in piano lessons. At the age of eight, she began to
study at the Queens College Saturday Music Academy. It was obvious that music was
more than an interest, but an essential part of who she was.
Her love for music brought her to Five Towns College where she studied Jazz
Commercial Music and Opera. Danielle holds a Bachelors Degree in Jazz Commercial
Music and now works in the NYC Public School system as a chorus teacher. In addition
to penning her own material, she has written for many local artists in the NYC Tri-State
area. As the CEO of her own music production and entertainment company, Pure
Sounds Ministries, she extends growth opportunities to churches who are interested in
their music ministry expanding through vocal and instrumental training.
Danielle, like many singer/songwriters, can lay claim to getting her start in the church.
Yet, she distinguishes herself…she is still in the church and she believes that she is the
church. She brings its sense of love and community; hope and healing wherever she
goes and the places she is going to! Sure, her credentials look great on paper, but
Danielle proves time and time again that she can deliver in the classroom as well as the
concert hall. Her voice will ring from the studio, right to the stage, straight from
Heaven, and to your heart. While her love for music carries her through life, it also
carries her across borders from the New York tri-state area lines to the international
lines of Germany, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Russia, Australia and Serbia. Near or far, she
wants to bring you closer to God; closer to a new day in music where artistry and
ministry are not compromised.
On April 18th, 2010 she released her first project entitled “AMAZING” to rave reviews.
XImagonline.com, GospelInnovation.com, and FullBlastMagazine.com were among the
many magazines and publications that reviewed the album and supported the release.
It is now currently available in all digital and record stores.
Brace yourself…and experience the pure sounds of Danielle Lewis. Music is her
passion, writing is her love, singing is her heart and ministry is her life.
Grand Tone: Hi, Danielle. It is definitely an honor and my pleasure to meet you. I would like to welcome you to Leilani Entertainment Magazine and hope that all is very well with you. Danielle: Thank you for HAVING me! I’m very excited and honored. Grand Tone: I had the opportunity to review some of the songs on your upcoming CD project, titled “Amazing”, and I can honestly say…the music is definitely nothing short of just that…AMAZING! Seeing that you’re an accomplished songwriter, what inspires you to write? What inspirations in your personal life or others led to you writing the songs featured on this project? Danielle: I am SO happy that you like the project. I put everything I had into it. I am a growing songwriter and my experiences and those around me inspire me to write. When I listen to the experiences of those around me I try to be that vehicle between them and God thru song. Everything I have been thru is a song. Grand Tone: Of course, writing your own music and songs are definitely an accomplishment in itself in this music industry, but what other artists, national or independent, have you written songs for? Danielle: I have written for two other independent artists out of NY: Harry Thompson and the DW Project. Grand Tone: Are there any artists out there, gospel or secular, that you would like to write for? Like, who’s that one artist or artists that you’ve always dreamed of writing a song for or working with? Danielle: I would love the write for ANYONE!!! It is a dream of mine to collaborate/ write with Cece Winans, Yolanda Adams and Anita Baker. Grand Tone: What artist or artists really inspire you? Who’s one of your ALL TIME favorite artist(s)? Danielle: This album means that I accomplished one of my goals, it means that I can offer back to God this completed assignment, it means that it’s a start to me fully becoming who God wants me to be….I could go on….hahahahaha! Grand Tone: What message underlies through your music, the songs featured on this album? Danielle: Worship. Prayer. Greatfulness. Grand Tone: What producers or other writers did you work with on this project? Danielle: Andre “A-Minor” Johnson and I were the executive producers and I wrote every song. I am definitely looking forward to working with other writers and producers on my next project. Grand Tone: Any special appearances or tours coming up where our readers can see you, look for you?
