ENT // JAMES C. EARL-ROCKEFELLER, III VJTV
Leilani: Greetings and How are you?
JCER: GROOVY!

Leilani: Please re-introduce yourself and tell our audience what you do.
JCER: My name is James C. Earl-Rockefeller, III and I am Founder, President and Executive Producer of VJTV The Visual Radio NETWORK and VJTVNETWORK.COM.

Leilani: Tell us about your company VJTV and when and why you got started
JCER: VJTV is a music entertainment television production company broadcasting music videos, celebrity interviews, event coverage, artist promotion, contest and giveaways.

Leilani: How did you get your start in Television?
JCER: The ku klux klan gave me the inspiration to produce television. I was in San Francisco (my home town) walking down a street and seen a flyer attached to a telephone pole promoting a Ku Klux Klan TV show on a local station. I went to a phone booth [yes, I said phone booth] and got the number to the station. I then called them and asked, "Why does the klan have a show"? They told me it was a public access station and anyone that lives within the City and County of San Francisco can produce a show. I said, "I want a show". They told me to bring down my ID and proof of residency (letter addressed to me, phone bill, etc...) and I can sign up. The station was also about half a mile from where I made the phone call. So I went to sign up, teamed up with a crew they provided and aired my first show Wednesday, February 22, 1989 at 2:30pm.

Leilani: Whats been the hardest and best part of what you do?
JCER: The hardest thing is the strength and motivation to keep it going. Finding the resources to continue a much needed promotional tool and getting dedicated people in your corner. The best things are reaping the rewards of your work i.e., enjoying vast exposure, meeting your favorite entertainers and attending a variety of exclusive parties and events.

Leilani: What type of show(s) and commercials do you run and what do you look for in potential clients?
JCER: VJTV programming mostly includes; music entertainment via music videos by international, popular and independent artist. Concert and event coverage, award shows, festivals and studio set interviews. We also promote and air commercial spots for small, growing and established businesses and anyone who is dedicated to their craft.

Leilani: What's the craziest thing you had to film and why?
JCER: The Exotic Erotic Ball in San Francisco. It's an annual Costume ball that focuses mostly on erotic entertainment. We videotaped people getting spanked, having crazy sex in public, masturbation, whatever you can imagine probably happened at this ball. It was something we wanted to cover and did it, objectively and professionally.

Leilani: What else do you do?
JCER: VJTV is partnered with an established production company, History In The Making Entertainment. Through HITM and its Executive Producer and Director Ramasses Head who does a vast majority of the productions for VJTV, we have produced, co-produced or associate produced; 3 movies, a plethora of television shows and commercials for diverse clients in retail, medical, sports, education, music and religion.

Leilani: What are you currently working on?
JCER: VJTV has a team of host known as the VJTV VeeJettes. They are some of the sexiest women on television. These young ladies come from diverse background in the entertainment industry and are very popular with the artist they interview. They have also appeared in many VJTV and HITM projects. Look for VJTV and the VJTV VeeJettes to air in your city soon.

Leilani: What does a potential client need if they want to work with you?
JCER: A REALISTIC BUDGET!

Leilani: What's the round about financial commitment range does a client need to hire your service(s)? Explain
JCER: It actually depends on the project. We consult with the client what they're looking to create with their project and then discuss the budget. We then come to a medium between how much production we can offer according to your budget. Our production work is very affordable and we always give our 3 Es in every project experience, efficiency and excellence!

Leilani: What's the most common mistake made by clients when they want to hire you or further their goals?
JCER: Not having a realistic marketing plan for their business, product or service. The old cliche', "It takes money to make money" is not a myth. You can't have a business if nobody knows you have one. Marketing and promotion is a very important tool. It really doesn't take as much money as some think.

Leilani: Any advice for potential clients or anyone interested into getting into your field of work?
JCER: Educate yourself in what you're pursuing. Converse with people that have your solution, not people with the same problem. Don't seek advice, seek knowledge and don't be too proud to accept it.

Leilani: Where do folks go or who do they contact if they want to reach you or keep updated with what you do?
JCER: To find out more about VJTV and the VJTV VeeJettes, they can log onto the website www.vjtvnetwork.com and www.HITMentertainment.com and by e-mail rocke@vjtvnetwork.com or call us at 510-228-5355.

Leilani: Any shout outs?
JCER: Definitely, To my wife for riding shotgun on this journey, My VJTV VeeJettes; Sierra Mora, Karen Cox, Miko Nelson, Andrea Medina and Kartiea "6 Foota" Turner. History In The Making Entertainment and its' principal Ramasses Head for taking my productions to a Godzilla level. My folks Pharoah Powell of Famous Films.
