FEATURES // EBONY LAVETTE
So many women want to be the next face in such a competitive industry. Some try their hands as a sex kitten, video vixen, high fashion or runway model. But regardless what style they choose, it takes more than a beautiful face and banging body to make it. Ebony Lavette has proven within a short period of time that she has what it takes to have longevity in this business. Join us as she breaks down her secret to success and why she captivates anyone that supports her. Leilani Ent help me welcome to the scene the beautiful and multi-talented, Ebony Lavette!

Leilani: Hello Ebony and how are you?
Ebony Lavette: Great and you?

Leilani: Tell everyone what you do and how long you’ve been doing it?
Ebony Lavette: I'm a model and have been doing so since November 2009.

Leilani: Who were some of your influences that inspired you to get in the modeling game?
Ebony Lavette: Tyra, Melissa, Alek and so many others.

Leilani: What has been the hardest part about getting into or being in the entertainment business?
Ebony Lavette: Being different! You have to have the "IT" factor!

Leilani: How is it working with other models?
Ebony Lavette: Good for the most part, we all share similar goals and we all want to be respected for what we do and be successful while doing it.

Leilani: The industry has gone from skinny to video vixen, sex kittens etc, what do you consider yourself and why?
Ebony Lavette: I consider myself a hustler more so than a model. But if I had to choose I would consider myself a vixen because I’ve done music videos and many magazines!

Leilani: Do you consider yourself to be a role model? Why or why not?
Ebony Lavette: I consider myself a realist and hard worker! I'm not sure I want to be a role model, I'm human and I make mistakes like anyone else.

Leilani: We know you are beautiful and model, what else do you do?
Ebony Lavette: I have a degree background in healthcare, I do some acting and I'm back to my first love...music! I'm in the studio recording songs that I've written years ago.

Leilani: What will give women longevity in this business and what separates you from most models?
Ebony Lavette: Invest, research and brand.

Leilani: What do you think about women who get the butt or body implants? Do you work out to maintain your shape?
Ebony Lavette: I don't agree with it. If you’re unhappy with the way you look and you personally want to change it, then do you! But if you’re changing for the likeness of another human being or audience, then you definitely have some self-esteem issues. I workout 3-4 days a week. I eat in moderation and I use a lot of weight training.

Leilani: Any advice for anyone trying to get into the modeling game? Explain
Ebony Lavette: Invest in your dreams, research who you’re trying to do business with before you launch out and brand yourself. You are a product and people have to believe in you as much or more than you do.

Leilani: What type of modeling do you do?
Ebony Lavette: Urban glam, fashion, fitness and hair.

Leilani: Who are some of the photographers you've worked with? What do you look for when choosing a photographer?
Ebony Lavette: Mykeon Smith, Rafeese and Dawn Masenya. I look for high quality, resume, knowledge of the industry and good chemistry!

Leilani: Any current projects you’re working on?
Ebony Lavette: A stage play and some mainstream magazines.
