LB: The title "This is my story" is simply what it states; numerous experiences as well as tunes of encouragement to uplift and relate to anyone who maybe going through or coming out of some tough life situations.
AJ: What's so special about this project?
LB: This project is very special to me because of the numerous collaborations on it. I was elated to work with producers Lew Laing & DJ Enuf as well as to write with Harry Thompson III and up and coming poet, Kendrick Dial.
AJ: What is your favorite track?
LB: I have several, but I think my all time favorite is "It Ain't About You" This track reminds us that every situation that we go through individually is ultimately to help someone else. Sure we'll benefit from the new character built in us, but nevertheless, it's to help someone else.
AJ: During these tough economic times where depression and frustration makes many people feel lonely, what is your message on "You've got a friend"?
LB: Loneliness stems from an unfilled void in our lives. Oftentimes we use people and things to temporarily fill this emptiness, and when the expectation is not met, then kicks in depression and frustration. When we finally understand that Jesus is the ultimate friend who really loves and cares for us like non other, then we will really experience "God Joy"! No one can rob us of this.
AJ: How would you describe your writing style, personal, reflective, or encouraging?
LB: I describe it as being all 3, however I would lean more towards encouraging.
AJ: What do you want listeners to take away from this CD after hearing it?
LB: I would love for each listener to be able to identify themselves in at least one of these songs. If we would all be honest, we are all either on our way in, going through, or on our way out of some life situation. Why not allow my music to be a vehicle that you can relate to.
