ATJ: Same to you sis! All good on this end.
Leilani: Please re-introduce yourself and tell our audience what you do and what you will do for the magazine.
ATJ: No problem, I’m an ordained minister, an assistant Pastor, I host an internet radio show on Saturday's on KLMT103.com out of San Diego, a civil service employee, a student, a son and a father. All of which I am very proud of. For the magazine, I'm going to keep it real and give the people what they want. If it's on my mind or the readers mind we'll talk about it. No matter what, I will always be straight up and encouraging!
Leilani: Explain the difference between religion and what a personal relationship with Christ means?
ATJ: To have religion is to have a deep conviction or belief in something you worship or praise. A personal relationship with Christ is more than a belief but a feeling. It’s a way of life. A personal relationship with christ means when everyone else can't, He ALWAYS can.
Leilani: What do you hope to bring to the magazine and what can folk expect from you in the spiritual section?
ATJ: Are you from the country Leilani, talking about folk, lol. Anyway, like I mentioned before we just want to be as honest and truthful as possible. This may mean it hurts sometimes, but in the end it's for the better. We often are hurt in order to be helped as believers. The Reality of Spirituality says it all.
Leilani: How long have you been saved and explain what that means to folks who may not know or are not saved.
ATJ: Here we go with folks again. Man, I've been in church all my life. I think the moment I became saved in my mind is when I understood the somebody actually died so that I could live. Being saved means saying I believe that Jesus is the son of God and that he lived, died and rose again for my salvation. It doesn't mean I'm perfect but it does mean I'm forgiven!
Leilani: What do you think about the things that are going on in the world today? What should be teaching our children?
ATJ: Wow, there is so much going on in the world. I'll say this, we're all exposed to whatever the enemy presents. The exposure can't hurt us if our defenses are up.The signs of the times reminds us over and over again that the Judge is coming back. As a father it's important that all of our children are protected and afforded the opportunity to live a successful and productive life. Teaching our children right from wrong is paramount and is a good foundation to build on.
Leilani: Who are some of the gospel artist you listen too? Explain
ATJ: I like to get hyped listening to gospel artist such as: Kirk Franklin, J Moss, Fred Hammond, Earnest Pugh and my man Brent Jones to name a few. I want to open a club called "Crunk for Christ". Hope nobody beats me to it. Lol
Leilani: Who are some of your influences that keep you encouraged to live holy? Explain
ATJ: My mom has been a lifelong influence for me to live right. My God Mother who is a seasoned saint now and my daughter who is a junior saint. Without them I wouldn't be where I am today with my faith and certainly not the man I am. But man they keep a brotha praying hard. It's all for the good.
